Juno

It seems that I never posted about Juno. I was under the impression that this movie was supposed to be an uproarious film. It was hysterical and Juno is absolutely loveable. Diablo deserved best original screenplay! I love all the actors staring in this movie. The screenplay was great - and the ability to develop characters in the way Diablo did so was an amazing feat given that "comedies" are supposed to be light and airy and there is typically no character development or anything memorable but some lines. So, here we have Juno. I went in expecting to laugh my ass off. Instead I laughed through the first say non-pregnant half. Then I spiraled down into a crying mess of a thing with Jdog holding a sobbing me. How wrong is that?

Jennifer Gardner played the chosen mom to Jason Bateman's chosen dad character. That is, they were going to be the adoptive parents. A-parents. Jennifer did a great job of showing the emotional taxation of 1. not being able to conceive on her own and 2. not wanting her hopes to get up by having a surrogate. She did a fine job acting like she had the emotional wall up - you knew that she wasnt an uptight ice queen instead you knew there was something. Now, I get that you know by lines and by plot however, she took it to the next level.

Juno on the other hand also displayed this great - should I really be doing this or not attitude. Great job for a kid to do. Again screenplay helps but delivery was great. she was really able to play both the comedic role and serious drama. Michael was great as the biological dad. Juno's parents were great. The class issues played well. Justin was a great creepy i dont want a baby but i'd sleep with a teenager kind of character. Loved and hated him of course. The high school drama and town gossip stuff was all there. Backstory development was great.

Overall great movie. If you have pregnancy, abandonment, abortion, adoption issues your buttons will be pressed!
